Founder and President, Her Story Matters
Rhoda Harriet Khataba founded Her Story Matters in 2011 with a conviction born from lived experience: the structures meant to serve people most often fail them at the moments that matter most, and they can be made to work differently.
Over 15 years, she has built the organisation into an international platform for leadership, governance, and social impact, reaching over 15 million people across four continents through partnerships with the UN, the UK Government, the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, and global financial institutions.
Born in Nairobi, Kenya, and based in London, her career spans corporate finance, media production, international development, and strategic consultancy. This breadth gives her a perspective that is rare in the field, bridging ground-level reality and institutional decision-making, and informing the depth Her Story Matters brings to every engagement.
Under her leadership, the organisation has delivered landmark advocacy campaigns, launched Her Story Magazine, convened international leadership conferences, and built a global community of over 2.8 million people committed to leadership, equity, and lasting change.
Rhoda continues to serve as Founder and President, guiding Her Story Matters into its next chapter and bringing the same conviction that started it all to the organisations and leaders ready to create impact that reaches the people it is meant to serve.
